Monday Morning Post…Zone defense…backup my blog
I experienced one of those special moments in a man’s life, the birth of my first daughter. I already have two boys, ages 4 and 2. They each have a personality of their own and are a blast for my wife and me to rear. But a girl… what do you do with a girl? From the moment I found out we would be having a girl I’ve been trying to prepare myself for the occasion. My home office one week while I was out of town was converted by my wife into the future home of our new little girl; pink paint, new crib, baby clothes in the closet and stuffed animals. Finally, at 5:00PM on the 2nd of October our new baby girl arrived. We named her Lucy Ann, Lucy because we like it, and Ann because it’s the middle name of our both our mothers. She’s gorgeous, dark brown hair, 6 lbs 15 ounces and 18 inches long. She’s coming home tomorrow night and we can’t wait! Obviously, my camera came out shortly after her birth and within a few hours I had snapped close to 50 pictures. This evening I just emailed off some of the best ones to my close friends, family and business associates. My wife and I can’t wait to get her home and introduce her to our two sons. It is a new chapter in our family’s life. Things will be different from now on. My wife and I will have to play zone defense now, 3 kids vs. 2 parents! And hopefully our new daughter can help balance out our sons’ rambunctious personalities. We have a lot to look forward to and couldn’t be more excited!
The truth is that there are literally thousands of families every single day across the world that experience something very similar to what I just described above. All of us care deeply about our family and close friends. We take pictures and write on our blogs to share the moments that mean the most to us. Earlier this evening I published a new post on my personal blog, including pictures of our new baby. Already, after just a few hours, comments are coming in and excitement is building around the new birth of our baby. Like thousands of you, I would be slightly perturbed if this post about my little girl were erased or deleted. I would be devastated if I lost my pictures and my blog in its entirety. That’s one of the driving factors behind Bloggled. Part of our mission is to help protect the memories and blogs of our members by backing them up after every post. It’s the peace of mind that we provide to our members that got us started on this movement in the first place. Don’t think about it. It’s not worth the risk. Get Bloggled and backup your blog.
